11:20pm: Dayton Moore shot down the Bradley rumor this evening. The KC Star's Bob Dutton says the Royals still like Rafael Furcal and Orlando Hudson, but they'd need to free up money first. They'd be willing to trade Jose Guillen if there was a taker, but don't want to move Gil Meche.
9:05pm: Ken Rosenthal spoke to a Rangers official who expects Milton Bradley to move on (at least they'll snag a supplemental pick). This official believes the Rays and, surprisingly, the Royals are the leading suitors for Bradley. The Rays came away impressed after their lunch date with Bradley, who was in town for Eddie Guardado's poker tournament.

Man, if the Royals sign Bradley, there are going to be some major roster moves. If he does, it should be interesting given the altercation that (almost) happened between him and Ryan Lefebvre.

At least the Royals are active this season. Although this is questionable, seeing as how Bradley will probably not play outfield anymore in his career, and the fact that the Royals have Jacobs/Butler/Gload at DH.

Come on Rays, sign him up. Not sure why the Royals would want another DH who can occasionally play the OF.

OF who went after his manager? check
OF who went after opposing pitcher on the mound recently? check
pursue OF who goes in the stands after fans, and up to the press booth after announcers? check
Plus we are rumored in on Kyle Farnsworth?
hmm..those days of the Royals being 'good old boy' pushovers may be long gone. maybe if we trade for Elijah Dukes, other teams will be too scared to land their planes in KC and we win by forfeit?

Man, if we acquire him Bradley, Dayton Moore had better have some trades lining up for some of our extra outfielders.
Willwe have Butler/Sheely/Gload/and Teahan to trade for a decent starting pitcher?

Dont forget
OF that went after fans and argue with fans http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vlCf-bz2X4 CHECK

I'd love to see the Rays sign Bradley, perfect OF/DH type. I'm a little afraid they won't build off last season, and they'd fade back into mediocrity. Bringing in Bradley would put those thoughts to rest in a second.
He'd be the OBP man for the Royals, but I don't see how they can fit him into their payroll, let alone their lineup. Gullien would have to go, and Butler would probably have to be dealt as well. Gload has no business on a major league roster.

I can't imagine bradley actually sitting down and signing his name to a contract that sends him in KC. Isn't he the guy that flaked out on the leo nunez deal that would have sent Bradly to KC a couple of years ago?
I just don't see it happening.
Where you been Hamelin? The Royals board has been lacking without you around

I think Bradley would be a great signing for the rays, as long as he could stay healthy he would be the perfect fit for the rays RF/DH need

This looks too good to be true
I see the Cubs coming back in the Bradley hunt.

Surely the Reds could try to make a trade for both Grenkie and Guillen?
Bailey, Thompson, and Dorn are probably enough for Grenkie. Guillen can net Dickerson, Valkia, and Roenicke to add to their pen. Id even throw in Fransisco if I had to.

I honestly can't see the Cubs signing Bradley. He doesn't really fit what they need - a left-handed power RF bat - because at this point in his career, Bradley is probably incapable of playing RF on an every day basis.

I agree he can't/shouldn't play RF regularly but the Cubs want Ibanez for RF so what do they care about defense.

"I agree he can't/shouldn't play RF regularly but the Cubs want Ibanez for RF so what do they care about defense."
YAY. Someone who actually gets that Raul Ibanez absolutely needs to stay in the AL. Unlike the majority of Cubs posters on this board.
Too bad your username makes me think you're not a Cubs fan.
But, I think the Cubs' financial situations will play a big part here. Bradley will be cheaper than Ibanez will be. The Cubs have an a$$load of backloaded contracts, and it could get ugly in 2010-2011. And, since they have OF depth, they might just take the injury risk on Milton as opposed to signing Ibanez.

My point was that Bradley can't physically play 130+ games without breaking down. Just look at his track record.
He's a DH if there ever was one.
Posted by: tolo316 | December 09, 2008 at 12:25 AM
Even playing DH is dangerous for Bradley, as he regularly hurts himself running the bases. I still hope the Rays sign him, but on a two-year deal worth $17 mil or so.
