« Marlins To Sign Scott Williamson | Main | Roy Halladay Rumors: Tuesday »
The Marlins are about to sign Scott Williamson to a minor league deal, and they have also shown interest in big league relievers, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro. Every potential trade partner has asked for Logan Morrison or Mike Stanton in return, but the Marlins consider the two prospects untouchable.

So does that imply that prospects like Maybin and Dominguez aren't untouchable and COULD be dealt if the right deal came along?
Just curious

What happen to ceda?

I can't imagine there is a reliever in the Bigs today that would merit the Fish trading away Stanton. From what I've heard, the kid can flat out rake.

Ceda is out this season due to torn labrum surgery. He hasn't pitched since the first few days of spring training.
I don't see Dominguez being traded unless they really believe in Sanchez at 3rd; the FO has already made comments of Bonifacio playing out of position and not liking Coghlan at 3rd, as well as having no other legit 3B prospect. Maybin is also doubtful, but not completely out of the question given the right deal, I guess.
Their most likely trading chips (if they're in win now mode) would be the young A-level pitching like Kaminska and Sanabia or an A/AA OF like Galloway and Cousins.

The Marlins aren't gonna trade away Stanton or Morrison for anyone. And Maybin/Dominquez would take a huge haul.
The Marlins are looking to make a deal around guys like Gaby Sanchez, Jeremy Hermida and Rick Vanden Hurk types for solid RPs like George Sherrill.
Don't expect the Marlins to move any major pieces and def not any top prospects.

i think that hermida is really the only guy they're going to actively shop around....that rumor about trading gaby sanchez seems to be a bit of a moonshot
gonna be hard to deal hermida with his average dropping off the table like barry zitos curveball

If they would I'd trade Mike Gonazlez for Mike Stanton in a heartbeat!

Why not try Hanley out at 3B or outfield, and put Bonifacio at SS.. just a thought
