| Fukudome Receives Another Offer »

Somehow, I missed a Ken Rosenthal column. This thing is already 14 hours old. I'm slipping.
- A Mystery Team has already made a four-year offer to Francisco Cordero. We know the Brewers made an offer on Monday but Rosenthal may be referring to another club.
- Rosenthal suggests Scott Linebrink could be reunited with Bruce Bochy to become the Giants' closer. It's known that the Astros already have an offer out to Linebrink.
- Teams interested in Geoff Jenkins: the Cubs, Padres, Giants, Rangers, and Royals. Several of those are new to me.
- The Tigers' payroll is expected to exceed $115MM. Time to head over to Cot's and do some math. By my count the Tigers are around $105MM right now (includes some arbitration guesses). That leaves room for one starting pitcher signing, be it Kenny Rogers, Carlos Silva, or whoever.
- The Cardinals, Astros, and Mets have their eye on Livan Hernandez. Mets' management is divided on signing him, since he's a back-rotation guy.
- Rosenthal believes the Reds could shop Joey Votto or Josh Hamilton a year from now in hopes of acquiring starting pitching.
- Tony Clark is gaining in popularity as a cheap power source. He might be looking at two years, $4MM plus more playing time.
Livan does nothing for me. I know the brothers want to pitch together, so that's why I would suggest just trading El Duque to whoever signs Livan. Let them suck together somewhere else.
I'd take a good look at Silva if I was Omar. He'd be moving from the AL to the NL, and from turf to grass.

i will give 2-1 odds the mystery team for cordero is the yankees, and that explains why Riveria hasnt signed his deal yet

The Cardinals are interested in signing "insert medicore SP here". The Brewers are interested in "insert medicore RP here".
Gotta love it!

it makes sense to why Rivera hasnt jumped all over that deal yet, if they can get the same thing rivera has done and he is younger. They would need to be a mystery team, so they can keep Rivera on ice if they cant land him, because if he found out they are working to replace him he would definitely walk, and get ballpark the same deal elsewhere. The gestapo like tactics of the yankees recently really makes me think its them

The Cubs are interested in pretending they are going to acquire an above average OF bat.
Carl Crawford for a bag of potatoes? Win the Fukudome bidding without an ownership group?
Gotta love it.

Colby Rasmus is the above average bat, he'll replace Edmonds by June.

Ignorance! Gotta love it!
HL, pick up a newspaper. You might learn something. The Devil Rays say there haven't been any Crawford offers. It's all false rumors. If other Cub fans think we could have gotten Crawford, it's their fault for being stupid. Hendry never bid for Crawford.
In terms of ownership, that was settled awhile ago. Tribune is holding onto to the Cubs and Hendry is free to spend as much as he likes.

Reds will shop Votto or Hamilton NEXT YEAR? What is there not enough stuff burning on the hot stove so he's got to throw in stuff about next offseason?
