« Odds and Ends: Mench, Patterson | Main | Kosuke Fukudome Signs With Cubs »
Bob Dutton of the KC Star has the latest Royals buzz, as usual.
The Royals are being aggressive trying to win an unlikely bid for Hiroki Kuroda. They might even send Trey Hillman to Japan to make a last-minute pitch. The Dodgers currently lead for Kuroda, who will decide from Japan rather than take a U.S. tour.
Plan B for the Royals is said to be Carlos Silva, but not at a price higher than four years and $40MM. That probably won't cut it for Silva, who can probably get an additional $10MM or another year elsewhere.

Is this guy even worth all the attention? I haven't seen anything on him besides he's a can't miss pitcher...anyone have any stats on this guy?

The Royals think spending a bunch of money on average players will help them contend.

That comment would confirm my earlier thoughts, the Royals are damned if they do and damned if they don't when it comes to free agency.

Enough with your sob story. The Royals are showing Baltimore Orioles style aggressiveness, i.e. being aggressive towards middle to lower tier players. They would not be "damned" if they signed impact free agents. Overspending on Jose Guillen does not make him better than he is, I am afraid.

Why not go cheap (fiscally) and trade for Haren?
Being in the cellar as long as the Royals have must have gotten them some pretty good prospects... right?

I really like the new ads on this site. The ones with the whores! If the Royals sign Silva they would actually be out of the AL Central basement. Sox suck!
GO Fukudome your face!

how in the hell does Carlos Silva propel a team anywhere??
Im a Red Sox fan, so i could care less about the WSox/Royals battle in the Central, but Carlos Silva is garbage and any team that gives him 10+ mil per season are complete idiots
