Juan Uribe Headed Out?

Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times believes the White Sox plan to shake things up today by getting rid of one or two players.  Most likely to go is infielder Juan Uribe.  Uribe makes $4.5MM this year, so he'd become part of the growing list of players who were paid to go away.  He was placed on waivers in March but no one wanted to pay his salary.  South Side Sox isn't jazzed with the idea of replacing him at second base with Alexei Ramirez.

Uribe, 29, has a career line of .252/.293/.424.  His once-stellar defense has become a source of frustration.  The Orioles are one team that might consider him, as they did last winter.

Please let this be true. The Sox need to finally commit to the young players! The offense has been anemic and the Vets Thome and Konerko are especially to blame. I can't live through 2007 again!

The Sox could certainly use Richar to get healthy from his rib injury.

This is further reflection of the lack of direction within the organization.

I'd welcome Alexei Ramirez with open arms. SSS is full a bunch of wannabe know-it-alls. Ramirez hasn't gotten regular playing time since spring training where he had an average in the mid .300s and was consistently drivng in runs and getting on base while hitting at the top of the order. I love Uribe's defense but other than that...yeah. Not good.

Wouldn't it be thrilling to see Kenny Williams make a play for Brian Roberts. Somebody should start that rumor so Roberts-mania could return to MLBTR.

SSS has half as many know-it-alls as Soxtalk.

Both chicago teams will combine to trade for Roberts and then share him

Best news I heard all day! Now call up Fields and play him at second. While you are at it call Owens up as well and play him. All you hear is this guy and that can't come out of the lineup......all with averages of around 200!!!

We won it a couple years ago, and we're horse[bleep]. The Cubs haven't won in [100] years, and they're the [bleeping] best. [Bleep] it, we're good. [Bleep] everybody. We're horse[bleep], and we're going to be horse[bleep] the rest of our lives, no matter how many World Series we win.

all i got to say, "F" Uribe, he said that he thought McGowan had a play at it yesterday with the slow nubber up MI just to cover up his dumba$$ mistake

I am tired of all the excuses. Konerko has not hit the last year and a half. Move his and Thome's butt down in the lineup. Time to grow up or this season will be a wash as well.

Omegaman, that is very true. Soxtalk is bloody awful.

how come all your F***ING A$$HOLES are on our subject, half you other guys are a bunch of ignorant B4$tards
