“Jason Botts Acquired By Nippon Ham”
…Sounds like a meat processing company without the “Fighters” on it… Anyway, good luck Jason!

That's because it is! Japanese teams have corporate ownership... that particular team is owned by a large Nippon Meat Packing Company.

What exactly are the rules of MLB players going to Japan? I know with Japan to MLB there's the posting system. But other way around, do they just sell the contract? Does the player have to accept or renegotiate? Anyone know?

I'm pretty sure the player has the right to refuse, they can't just ship you off to Japan without having you agree to it. But it's generally just a straight sell of the contract.

Jason Botts and Nelson Cruz are some of the best AAAA players I've ever seen. And no that isn't a typo. Too bad they cant cut it in the show.
