I read the article on the Hamilton for Volquez swap and it really didn't make much since.

Basically the Red's homer writer could only say that the trade was better for the Reds b/c the Reds pitching was so bad that even with Hamilton's bat the Reds would have lost a few more games. I think it was like 3? Anyways, the article is misleading b/c it only makes reference to how the trade was better for the Reds internally as opposed who got the better deal "the Rangers or the Reds" as the title suggests.

On Chris Davis being called up... Welcome to the show big man! Your the first prospect to actually deserve to be called up as opposed to being rushed up the Rangers have had in awhile. If you do well or not we will see. But you certainly deserve to be here.

I will be picking him up in my fantasy leagues...

that hamilton volquez deal was good for both teams. who cares who might have gotten a little better deal. volquez might falloff next year. hitting is consistent. what is justin verlander 3-9? that guy has the best stuff in baseball.

anyways about possible cardinals pickups, i would like to see washburn if seattle would eat some of next years salary. i know his numbers suck this year but i always thought he was a mentally strong guy and the cards like those types. he is very competitive even if he doesnt have the best stuff. thats the cardinls in a nutshell. not always the best but we compete. really though its way to early for the cards to do anything. we have so much uncertainty in the pitching staff right now time is needed. another few weeks would give them more time on mulder, clement, and wainwright.

My take is, why judge that deal now? Judge it in five years.
