Phillies Sign Gary Majewski

According to Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post, the Phillies signed reliever Gary Majewski to a minor league deal worth $650K.

Majewski is best known for being the subject of a grievance filed by the Reds against the Nationals regarding an undisclosed shoulder injury.  Majewski, 29 in February, has been hit hard in the Majors the past few years.

WOW. This is big. So much for a Teixeira signing being the top story today. Phillies have pretty much locked up a repeat with this guy in their pen...

It would take quite a few injuries for Majewski to ever find himself on the Phils' 25 man roster.

Whatever happened to Majewski's 2005 form? Did injuries ruin his form? Does anyone know what his minor league stats were before 2005 and when he was drafted?

The Magic man was pretty solid for the Nationals for a couple of years, but then he quietly had a shoulder injury so they traded him to the Reds and he was terrible every since. I liked the deal at the time, b/c I knew Felipe Lopez was garbage and Kearns was wearing down due to injuries, but he didn't bring anything to Cincy either. All though we did get Bill Bray out of the deal and he has looked promising. Not to mention pretty good prospect in Daryl Thompson.

yawn.

Maybe he can stick around at LHV.

major maj, the polish fire baller, i honestly didnt think the front office would step up and pull trigger but we got him and thatmakes us the team to beat fo sheezy.
