Saito grossly overpaid, maybe. Mazz how about Varitek, 5 million for someeone who IF he hits .240 again is an ALL-STAR caliber year for him.
Again last year, he was spearding all over the air waves the importance to sign a .209 hitter. 1 HR, 13 RBI'S after AS break.

Targetting J.Bay does NOT add a big bat. It re-signs a big bat on the 25 man roster since mid-2008. Adding a big bat would mean picking up AGon. AGon + Bay = 75HR, 220RBI, 200R, .950OPS. That's what addition does for ya!

Mazz exaggerates the amount of pitching the Sox have to trade. Having just traded Masterson and Hagadone, lost Wagner and maybe Saito, plus Beckett's contract year, they will have little depth if they give up two of Buchholz, Bowden, Bard, MDC for AGon.

Mark mulder would be great for the brewers and not exspensive either.
