The Reds designated righty Carlos Fisher to open a spot on the 40-man roster for Ryan Ludwick, reports's Mark Sheldon.  Jeff Francis' minor league deal with the Reds was also finalized.

Fisher, 28, has compiled a 4.74 ERA in 98 2/3 innings across stints with the Reds in each of the last three seasons.  Fisher, a native of Duarte, California, was drafted by the Reds in the 11th round in 2005.

There’s Ludwick’s horrible deal again :(

2.5 mil for Ludwick is pretty good imo.

That deal isn’t even bad and was necessary since we didn’t even have a legit 4th outfielder after Sappelt was traded. 2 mil is chump change to a MLB team.

Hmm.. How’d Negron get past this?

I know Fisher was eventually going to be taken off the 40 man, BC of having no options left, but HOW and WHY did Kris Negron make it thru? He is next, I would hope
