« Tigers Sign Adam Everett, Twins Like Wilson | Main | Rockies Rumors: Taveras, Villone, Marquis »
9:44pm: Jayson Stark says Boras requested a meeting with the Dodgers for Tuesday, presumably to discuss Manny. However, Danny Knobler suggests negotiations for Manny will be handled by Frank McCourt.
3:34pm: Dodgers GM Ned Colletti seems frustrated with the Manny Ramirez situation, based on quotes obtained by ESPN's Jerry Crasnick:
"I just find it curious. We made an offer and never heard back. We made an arbitration offer and never heard back. Maybe we have to look into the communications we're using."
It seems that Scott Boras didn't seriously consider accepting either offer, given the complete lack of communication. Colletti will continue trying to fill the team's other needs.
Colletti was chatty with reporters; Joel Sherman has more. The Dodgers have moved on from Derek Lowe and are past the possibility of Jason Varitek. C.C. Sabathia doesn't sound like a priority for Colletti, while Rafael Furcal remains on the radar. And of course a deal may be close with Casey Blake.

Scott Boras lives in the 7th layer of hell in the off-season. You've got to use the inter-spiritual communications network to get to him.

04......you beat me to it. Now maybe people will understand where the Sox were coming from. At least the Dodgers only gave up two players for him and no money......

Would love manram though. It would be a perfect fit, one can only cross their fingers and wait.

It's all about the domino's...if Yanks can sign CC and Angels sign Tex and Mets sign Krod, then perhaps the $$/suitors for Manny will lessen and the Dodgers will have a better chance of retaining him on a 2-3 year deal. If Yanks/Angels lose out on their big targets, then we're screwed, because they can offer the money and the length of deal with the protection of knowing that Manny can DH for them down the line.
If Boras is playing the waiting game, then we should too. It could go either way at this point.

Dude ESPN is stupid. Houston can't trade Carlos Lee. He won't accept it.

Anaheim Angels of Anaheim:
As of January 1, 2008, the city population was about 346,823.
not exactly true the angels are bringing in fans from the entire OC area.. they should be named the orange county angels of anaheim.. plus they bring in alot of people from the southern part of LA county

Look, as great a hitter as Manny is, if that's the way he and his agent are treating you, then you have to walk away. Screw him.
