- The Dodgers acquired minor league infielder Osvaldo Martinez from the White Sox for cash considerations, Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times tweets. Martinez, 24, had a .178/.221/.229 batting line in 230 plate appearances for Chicago's top affiliate this year. The White Sox acquired him last fall in the deal that sent manager Ozzie Guillen to Miami.
White Sox continue to reap benefits from Ozzie going to the Marlins!!
Why would you want or take a guy hitting .178?

During the All Star Game “softball game” The beautiful Haley Reinhart would have been a better aquisition.
Seeing as to how the Dodgers depth is thin due to all the injuries this makes sense. Utility help is help bat or not. The Dodgers need a warm uninjured body with a little MLB experience and this fits the bill. Will be AAA fodder or released once the team regains some health.
