« Giants Rumors: Renteria, Howry | Main | Javier Vazquez Trade Reactions »
MLB.com's Lyle Spencer talked to Angels GM Tony Reagins, who said Mark Teixeira remains the team's top priority (and they're not concerned about his knee). Reagins said there was nothing to reports of the Halos shifting their focus to C.C. Sabathia. The Angels have also not made a play for Jake Peavy.
The original report on the Angels interest in Sabathia suggested Tex remained the priority, though Danny Knobler had said the Halos dropped their pursuit of Tex.

Angels should probably go after Tex hard and work on extending Lackey instead of signing CC.

Angels should extend Lackey for an escalating salary of 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 million of a 5 year deal. Then sign CC so Lackey doesnt command as large of a contract as CC

Angels need that super star hitter b/c Vlad is not getting better. Tex make more sense than CC.

Tex better sign with the Angels if they are willing to play the waiting game with him and Boras.

""Tex better sign with the Angels if they are willing to play the waiting game with him and Boras."
Porque?"
Because the Angels have the money and talent to attain pretty much any big name free agent or player rumored to be on the trade market, but they are choosing to make Tex their #1 priority which should show him how much they think of his talents. I know he wants 10 yrs and the Angels are talking 6 but no other team has said they would give 10 either.
