According to Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post, the Phillies and Cardinals are the top suitors for Rockies outfielder Matt Holliday. The Phillies discussed Holliday and Brian Fuentes with the Rockies during the season. The Rockies have an eye on Carlos Carrasco, J.A. Happ, and Shane Victorino. Todd Zolecki believes Jayson Werth could be in the mix. The Cardinals have been aggressive, and Ryan Ludwick is their bargaining chip. Let's round up some links and rumors. The Brewers scouted Arthur Rhodes last night, according to Jon Heyman. About a "half-dozen" Braves are subject of trade talks, according to GM Frank Wren. Baseball Prospectus' Kevin Goldstein notes that Brandon Wood's stock is rising in case the Angels want to use him as a trade chip. Phillies prospect J.A. Happ wasn't necessarily pulled from his start last weekend because of a big league promotion. Phillies assistant GM Mike Arbuckle admitted that a trade is another option. Let's round up some linkage. ESPN's Buster Olney wonders if Adam Everett would be a good fit for the Dodgers. Phillies pitcher Adam Eaton accepted a minor league assignment today. It seems that J.A. Happ will replace him. Jim Callis of Baseball America thinks the only first-round pick who might not sign will be San Diego's Allan Dykstra. I did a Q&A with Mets Fans Forever. Rounding up rumors and links from the weekend... SI.com's Jon Heyman says the Mariners are asking the Mets for Jon Niese for Raul Ibanez. Not likely. ESPN's Buster Olney says the Braves would require Conor Jackson from the D'Backs in a Mark Teixeira deal, but Arizona is not biting.
